Bask in the sun at the beach

If you're a lover of sandy shores and crashing waves, Nantucket's beaches will be your paradise. Picture yourself lounging under an umbrella, feeling the warm sand between your toes, and listening to the soothing sound of the ocean. Madaket Beach is a local favorite, with its stunning sunsets that will leave you in awe. Surfside Beach is perfect for catching some waves or taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.

Indulge in seafood galore

Nantucket is a seafood lover's dream come true. From fresh lobster rolls to delicious clam chowder, you'll find yourself drooling over the delectable dishes served up at the island's many eateries. The Galley Beach is a must-visit spot for seafood aficionados, where you can feast on mouthwatering fish tacos and crispy calamari. Its actually on the beach so you can enjoy the ocean breeze and spectacular sunsets. To switch it up we ate a Lola 41 for sushi. Which happens to have fabulous cocktails as well.

Stroll through history

Nantucket oozes history from every corner. Take a leisurely walk through the cobblestone streets of downtown and marvel at the beautifully preserved historic homes. The Whaling Museum is also worth a visit, where you can learn about Nantucket's rich maritime heritage and see artifacts from its whaling days.

Thrill-seekers unite!

If adrenaline-pumping activities are more your style, Nantucket won't disappoint. Hop on a paddle board, surf or kayak and explore the island's stunning coastline from a different perspective. For those seeking an underwater adventure, scuba diving is a popular activity here – swim alongside colorful fish and discover hidden shipwrecks beneath the waves.

Shop 'til you drop

Nantucket is home to charming boutiques and unique shops that cater to all tastes. From upscale designer stores to quaint local shops, you'll find everything from clothing and accessories to home décor and art. Wander down Main Street and pop into the various shops along the way – you never know what treasures you might find!

Unforgettable sunsets

There's something magical about watching the sun dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the island. The Brant Point Lighthouse is a perfect spot to catch a stunning sunset. We grabbed crudite from Bartlett Farm and a bottle of Rose from Current Vintage and took a beautiful bike ride over to the Lighthouse. It's a must see while on Nantucket Island.

Empty nesters are homeowners whose children have grown up, gone off to college and moved out, leaving their homes empty or with much more space than they need. As these homeowners enter a new stage in their lives, they may want to downsize or relocate for various reasons such as financial, practical, or personal. As empty nesters, selling the family home can be a great opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter in your life. Here are some factors to consider when deciding if it's the right time to sell: Size and maintenance: If your family home is too large for your current needs, it may be worth downsizing to a smaller, more manageable property. Selling your home could also free up time and resources that were previously spent on maintenance and upkeep. Lifestyle changes: Empty nesters often find themselves wanting to travel more, pursue hobbies, or relocate to a different area for a change of pace. Selling your family home can provide the freedom and flexibility to embrace these new lifestyle choices. Financial considerations: Selling your home can provide a significant financial boost. You may be able to use the proceeds to pay off debts, invest in retirement funds, or purchase a property that better suits your needs and budget. Emotional attachment: It's important to consider your emotional attachment to the family home. While selling can bring a sense of closure, it can also be an emotional decision. Take the time to evaluate your feelings and make sure you are ready to let go. Declutter and organize: Encourage the homeowner to get rid of any items they no longer need or use to make the house look more spacious and organized. This can make it easier for potential buyers to envision themselves in the home. Consider home staging: A professional home stager can help showcase the property's best features and create a more welcoming environment, potentially increasing its appeal to buyers. Price competitively: Empty nesters may have an emotional attachment to their home, but it's important to price the property realistically based on current market conditions. Highlight practical features: Homes for empty nesters should offer easy maintenance, accessibility, and convenient amenities. It's important to highlight these features in marketing materials and during showings. Before making a decision, it's recommended to consult with a real estate professional who can provide you with market insights and guide you through the selling process. They can help you determine the current value of your home and advise if it's the right time to sell based on market conditions. By keeping these tips in mind, an empty nester can increase their chances of selling their home quickly and at a desirable price. Embrace the next chapter of life!
